Inviting Loved Ones To Celebrate A New Life with Baby Shower Invitations
Invitations have always been the mark of a great event to attend. Organizers want to completely win the hearts of conveyed guests, and said guests like to know that they were special enough to warrant a uniquely tailored invitation. But when it comes to baby shower invitations, where someone will be celebrated for giving life to someone new, more than pen and paper are required.
What Should It Look Like?
Baby Showers are usually gatherings of close relatives or loved ones of expecting parents' entourage. Such intimate guests usually wish to preserve an invitation to a very special event as a token of affection and proximity to the family-in-the-making, a memorabilia from a time when an energetic and beautiful child was merely a bump on mommy's tummy. A baby shower invitation should therefore reflect the parents who send it out, and the mood they wish to inject in the event.
Whether they are handmade in the vein of a scrapbook montage or printed out with every bit of creativity a computer can offer, they should be made into souvenirs that remind of who the parents are as humans, as loved ones and as expecting parents. Some parents will prefer to save time in using expeditious communication like phone calls or emails, which of course does save time and effort but leaves little to remember the celebration by, save for pictures and embarrassing home videos. Invitations are the first impression given to guests of what kind of Baby Shower they will be taking part in, and should be made to give a loving and celebratory impression.
What Should It Say?
Obviously, baby shower invitations should tell the recipient that they are conveyed to such an event. But they should just as much give meticulous detailing of the event's time, place and purpose. First because one might wish their guest to attend on time and at the right location with the proper attire, but also because, again, the Baby Shower will become witness to a life-changing event to all involved, namely the birth of a beautiful new life.
Therefore, the baby shower invitation should be made to include:
Who is being celebrated: the name of the mother, father and hopefully baby.
What date the celebration is taking place, and what time guest arrival is expected.
Where it is taking place, how to get there and what kind of parking space is available…
If the Baby Shower is a complete surprise or if the guest of honor is in the loop.
And of course the very important RSVP return card, with number of guests per household.
Whoever will elect or be elected to produce the baby shower invitations, most important to keep in mind are the mother's wishes; if she is made aware or even organizes the gathering herself, she might already have in mind what kind of baby shower invitations she wishes to send out, and do it herself. On the other hand, the mother-to-be might be relieved if someone else steps-in to provide them and take some of the pressure off.
