Finding A Quality Cheap Designer Fragrance That Works For You
Prices of designer perfumes and colognes have become almost ridiculous in the last several decades. So much so that people are turning to cheaper knock-offs to find their favorite scent. The biggest problem with choosing a cheap designer fragrance, is that not all of these perfumes and colognes are made with the same chemical formula as their more expensive counterparts. This means that not all cheaper alternatives will react with your body chemistry in the same way that the more expensive fragrances will.
It Looks The Same…
The bottle that your cheap designer fragrance comes in may look similar to the more expensive brands; but the fact remains that these fragrances are rarely made by the same companies, and often smell much different once they have had time to interact with your body chemistry. Even if the ingredients are the same, the process used to make each fragrance generally varies greatly. Sadly, many people are not able to wear a cheap designer fragrance, due to the fact that the scent will "turn" once it has sat on their skin for a while.
Try Before You Buy
If you have found a cheap designer fragrance that you like, and you're thinking of making the switch, you should make a point to first try it out before you purchase an entire bottle. Most discount and department stores place sample bottles of all of their fragrances out so that people can test them. Find a store that has these tester bottles of the cheap designer fragrance you like, and spray some on each of your wrists.
If after a few hours, the fragrance on your skin still smells the same as it did straight from the bottle, then you have found a cheap designer fragrance that will work for your body chemistry. If, however, the scent has changed, then it probably isn't right for you. Often a cheap designer fragrance will start to smell like rubbing alcohol if it isn't going to work with your body chemistry.
If the cheap designer fragrance similar to your favorite perfume or cologne doesn't work for you, try looking for a fragrance that has a similar base to the one you usually use. For example, if your favorite expensive perfume is a musk, then look for other fragrances that have a musky undertone. The same goes for floral scents, as well as fruity fragrances; look for a cheap designer fragrance that has similar scents as the one you normally use.
