Matched Golf Club Set May Help You Improve Your Game
So, you want to hit the golf course and you are tired of your golf club set and want to pick up new clubs to help your game. You watch the professionals on television and type of clubs they use and you read all the advertisements and begin to weigh the benefits of having a matched golf club set or having woods by one manufacturer and irons from a different manufacturer, all in hopes of improving your game.
About the only way to improve your golf game is to strike every club in your golf club set with consistency. To achieve that you will want to head to the driving range, unless you have an unusually large yard and do not mind retrieving the balls yourself. You can start with any club you want, but should hit every one in your golf club set a minimum of ten times, with the sane stance and swing strength until you have firm grasp on how far you can hit the ball with every club.
For some reason, people tend to swing differently on the golf course than they swing at the driving range, and most of the adjustments made on the course during the game are unnecessary if you feel good about your swing. It is easier to achieve consistency if you use a full swing for every one in the golf club set on every shot, instead of trying to adjust your swing strength to adapt to the course.
Changes To Swing Can Come With Experience
After you have played a few rounds with your golf club set you will begin to feel more comfortable with each of the clubs. Once that comfort level has improved, making changes to your swing can be made to match course conditions. Many times the condition of the tee box at the driving range will be different than any conditions on the fairway and being able to add yards to an iron shot may become possible over time.
Unfortunately, when most people go to the driving range, they will concentrate on using their driver, which they will use maybe 14 times during a typical 18-hole game. They forget about the rest of the golf club set and when they get out on the course can drive the ball long and straight, but have little comfort in using their rest of the clubs in the bag. The time to practice with your irons is on the range and not when playing with your friends.
