In order to play the game of golf there are certain pieces of equipment that are essential in order to play nine or 18 holes. Basically, those essential pieces of equipment include a number of golf balls, tees, and golf clubs.
In essence, the game requires the player to drive the golf ball down the middle of the fairway towards the hole that is on the green. Also, it is important that the golfer has many golf clubs to choose from to enjoy the game of golf. Often those golf clubs are divided into three categories. Those categories include a driver, irons and a putter.
Driver
Probably the most important golf club that is contained in the golf bag is the driver. This is because the driver is used to drive the golf ball towards the green on the initial shot. Often the golfer drives for distance and for accuracy. This because the game of golf is scored by adding the total number of shots it takes to play either the nine or 18 holes. Therefore it stands to reason that the greater distance you get on the first shot, the less strokes or swings you will need to putt the golf ball into the hole.
There are many different drivers that are available to the golfer. Often, they are constructed the same but the difference between drivers is in the material used to manufacture the driver. Those materials that drivers are constructed from include wood or titanium.
Irons
Other types of golf clubs that are found in a typical golf bag are labeled as irons. Generally, the total number of clubs that make up a set of irons adds up to eight. In addition, these irons are labeled accordingly and the higher the number the steeper the angle of the surface of the golf club. Typically, the golfer will use the two iron when they are further from the pin and a nine iron when they are closer to the hole.
Putter
The other important golf club that is contained in the arsenal of the golfer is the putter. The putter can be made from a number of metal materials and is generally flat on the side of the putting head that hits the golf ball. Often this golf club is used when the golfer is on green.
