Menopause is a time in a woman's life which can be a reverse equivalent to puberty in women. Hormones also fluctuate in this period in time and instead of an increase in the hormones that are dominant in our lives since puberty, there is now a decrease in them. Estrogen plays a big role in the way that our brain's neurotransmitters communicate with each other. In a sense, it helps in retrieving information and data stored in our brains. These symptoms especially difficulty in sleeping can affect one's brain by making it less alert and foggy, as some menopausal women described. So, menopause memory loss is actually a side effect of some of the symptoms that accompany this period in a woman's life.

The lack of sleep and exhaustion can affect women and men of all ages with memory loss and less alertness or reasoning. Studies pertaining to menopause memory loss have shown that menopause has no direct connection to memory loss. Menopause memory loss is the result of the sleepless nights and lack of rest that women get when menopause hits them full on.

The right thing to do when faced with menopause memory loss is to try and treat the menopausal symptoms that induce it. Get enough rest and give yourself more breaks than before to help your mind and body cope with menopause.
