Post Menopause May Relieve Many Symptoms Of Imbalances

There are distinct changes that women go through during menopause, but medically speaking menopause is not a time frame, rather it is the moment a woman's ovaries stop functioning in the reproductive cycle. Prior to that is referred to as perimenopause with post menopause usually considered the time after which all reproductive processes have ceased. While some consider a lack of menstrual periods as menopause, this can also be caused by medical procedures such as a hysterectomy, during which the uterus has been removed. Reproduction will not be possible and periods have ceased, and is considered surgical menopause.

The symptoms typically associated with menopause such as hot flashes, irritability, depression and mood swings are usually the result of hormonal changes. During perimenopause the woman's body is shutting off the reproductive system which causes fluctuations in the hormone production resulting in the symptoms. During post menopause it is normal for many of the psychological symptoms to disappear, however some of the physical, skeletal and sexual issues may remain.

Osteoporosis and muscle and joint pain are common among post menopause women and in many cases they have lost their sex drive and have problems reaching orgasm. Depression has also been known to continue during post menopause but some women claim they have more energy and stamina during this time.
