Useful Tips for Teen Skin Care
Teenage age is a real difficult phase, both psychologically and physiologically. While teens become increasingly aware of their body image during this phase, they have to experience many troubles with their skins. Teens are highly vulnerable towards a wealth of skin problems like acne, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and so on. So, it is very important to take an extra care for skin during these ages. This is why we are now going to discuss few useful tips on teen skin care.
Be Careful about Cosmetics Use
Many teens spend a considerable amount of time in doing makeup. However, if you are a teen, you must take a great effort while choosing your makeup products. All of the products, foundation, blush-on or moisturizer should not contain any oil content. You must select products that come from reputed companies. It is good if you can solely depend on natural organic products. Many chemical-based products may cause blemishes or pimples over your face.
Don't Squeeze
Squeezing can never solve your problem. Like many adults, many teens believe only squeezing the blemishes can help them out and make them free from blemishes and other skin problems. This is absolutely wrong. This never solves the problem, rather exacerbates it. If you squeeze or pick the area, you are at higher risk for developing permanent scar over your face. It is better not to touch or rub the area. This is one of the most important tips for teen skin care.
Cleanse Gently
No matter what is your skin type, you must act gently with your skin. Rubbing excessively with strong detergent soaps can not reduce the concentration of oil on your face; rather it only aids the skin losing natural moisturizer from it. Many teens think that they can experience a better looking skin if they excessively rub the skin with harsh soaps, since the soap can take out all the oils from the skin area. This is wrong and does nothing to teen skin care. Only use mild cleanser or mild soap to cleanse your skin. Be gentle always.
Avoid Scrubbing on Acne-Prone Skin
If you are having acne over your skin area, you must not use scrubber on it. Scrubber exacerbates skin condition adversely. This is very important to teen skin care. Instead of scrubbing, you can use any standard and reputed deep-pore cleansing solution over your face area and cleanse it gently. Scrubbing in any form can be harmful to your skin condition if you are having acne. If the skin area is damaged badly, it can leave scar for a long time.
Use Sunscreen Cream or Lotion
You must use sunscreen lotion or cream which has SPF level 30 or higher. Since teens spend more time in outdoor activities, they are at higher risk for skin damage as a result of direct sunlight, environmental pollutants, smoking, etc. Tanning lotion can make the skin less oily; however this is not an appropriate teen skin care, since it cannot provide long term solution. If you are on acne medications, remember that these medications may make you more vulnerable to sunburn. So, you must use sunscreen lotion on a regular basis.
