Solving Puzzles By Logical Thinking Only

For Sudoku masters, it is considered cheating to guess at a number in any block and most experienced puzzlers will go through the nine numbers one at a time to see where they are candidates for each block. For example, one of the best Sudoku tips and tricks used is to begin with the puzzle with its clues in place and then see in which row and column a number one might be able to go.

Once they have gone through all of the open blocks with the number one, they can go back through with the number two, then three and so on until they have penciled in potential candidates in all open squares.
