Your Bag May Be At An Unclaimed Luggage Facility
Right now, there are some people out and about without their luggage, and in other places there is some unclaimed luggage without the owners. The people who do not know that their luggage is in one of these unclaimed luggage centers are probably frustrated or totally despondent. Going out to buy a new tube of toothpaste when the last tube you bought is in an unclaimed luggage facility will probably be very demoralizing. Unfortunately, you have to brush your teeth whether your tube is near or far.
As much as it might hurt, you have to get to a store and buy a new tube because the folks at the unclaimed luggage facility may never find you. Many of the bags in an unclaimed luggage facility have no identification whatsoever. This is unfortunate because the airlines often remind people that they should place identification on and in their luggage. Although people may be annoyed at the airlines because they have unclaimed luggage that never finds the owner, some people do not have a reason for their anger at the airline if they have not followed directions. The angry people who did not mark their bags can at least be annoyed that the airline did not match their bag with the claim that they submitted when they got separated from their luggage.
Unclaimed Luggage May Go To Others
Some passengers lose their luggage on a trip halfway around the world with several connections. They might be surprised if their luggage appears when they land at their destination. Most travelers do not have trouble with their luggage arriving on time at the right place. Other people do have their luggage arrive at the right time but at the wrong place. They might have a short trip from Boston to New York and wait at the luggage claim with poor results. There are some incredible stories of unclaimed luggage arriving at strange, far away destinations.
There are supposedly some third world countries where the unclaimed luggage facility is full of many bags, but the managers do nothing to send the luggage to the proper place. Some of these bags might stay for years. Other countries and airlines try to match the unclaimed luggage with the owners. If their attempts are unsuccessful, the contents and the luggage might go on sale to the public. Once a piece of luggage arrives in this type of facility, the real owner is totally out of luck.
