Some Much Needed Home Security Accessories

So you have your cameras, door and window monitors, and alarm system all in place so you are all set, right? Maybe. There are some home security accessories that would be inexpensive to buy, easy to install, and could help be the difference between a successful break in and a thwarted intruder. Some home security accessories are pretty obvious while others are not only not obvious but they can also be pretty strange and nasty. Now that I have your attention let us take a look at some helpful home security accessories.

First of all put a sliding chain on all of your outside doors. The sliding chain may seem like a useless home security accessory but the reality is that it is just one more thing an intrude would have to go through to get into your house. They also make some sliding bolt extra door locks that are the same concept as a chain but it is a strong bolt that slides across and secures the door. These are great ways to frustrate a would be intruder because as much as they may be able to pick the lock on the doorknob and the dead bolt they cannot get to a sliding bolt because it is on the inside and there is nothing they can do about it. These are inexpensive home security accessories that are easy to install and can help keep intruders out.

Bolt The Windows

Window locks make excellent home security accessories because the only way an intruder is getting past a window lock is to break the window and that will probably make a lot of noise. Most intruders are frustrated and scared off by things such as window locks. Once again they are inexpensive home security accessories to purchase and easy to install. You may also want to put peep holes in your doors as well although these are rendered useless by a simple piece of black tape. But still some people prefer these as the ultimate home security accessories.

Some people like to deter intruders by digging pits at their side windows and filling the pits with a sludge or something else. They will hide the pits with a soft covering or simply plant flowers around it. An intruder that is trying to get in through the window might think twice if they are almost knee deep in a sludge of unknown origin that could start to smell a lot like fertilizer and water mixed together. Home security can be a nasty business.
