Eldora Ski Resort is located 21 miles west of Boulder Colorado and 45 miles from Denver. This has become one of the most popular skiing destinations in Colorado, largely because it can be accessed without having to use the busy I-70 interstate. Eldora Ski Resort is set up mainly for day trips, as it does not offer lodging of it's own. However, if you do need to stay, there are lodging accommodations nearby. It offers a variety of activities for all winter sport enthusiasts, from beginner to advanced.
The Mountain
Eldora Ski Resort is actually comprised of four separate mountains, and is set up according to experience level. The mountains have a 1600 ft vertical rise with the base elevation at 9,200 ft. and the top at 10,800 ft. The resort offers beginner and family ski slopes for those who are not experienced. Those looking for more of a challenge can find it on the Corona Bowl, which is a double black diamond mountain.
Why Eldora?
Eldora Ski Resort is a great choice for a number of reasons. This a great place to go if you are a beginner. It has a number of easier runs for you to learn on and get comfortable with. This is not the case with some of the other large ski resorts out there. They also offer lessons to help you get started. Like many other resorts, they also have groomed cross-country skiing trails nearby that allow you to explore the surrounding wilderness. These trails can also be traversed by snowshoe. Eldora Ski Resort is unlike many of the large, fancy resorts in the area. Many people enjoy this resort because they do not have to fight the crowds that one would find in the larger ones. Another reason that this resort is so popular with families is the fact that their prices are much more affordable than many other ski resorts.
