Treadmill Rental: Pros And Cons
Like most rentals, a treadmill rental is a sensitive topic. Any time an individual decides to rent, whether the product is furniture, power tools or an entire house, he or she needs to weigh the positive and negatives of the decision. While rental is good for a short-term problem, in the long run, rental is far more expensive than outright purchasing the product. For a weekend of painting, it makes sense to rent equipment, or if an individual is only planning on living in a particular city for a year, renting an apartment is a lot simpler than buying a house and needing to sell it. However, when it comes to equipment that a consumer plans on keeping, rental can get very expensive very quickly. Renting caters to those who cannot afford a lot of money upfront but can afford monthly payments. However, with the nature of consumerism now, most expensive products, like treadmills, can be paid off in installments through most distributors, so rental is not a great option to save money. Still, there are some reasons why a treadmill rental may be a good option for some individuals.
Short-Term Solutions
For some individuals, a treadmill may only be a short-term solution. Maybe they are moving somewhere and do not wish to transport a treadmill, or maybe their new home will not have room for fitness equipment. Or maybe they only plan on needing a treadmill for a short time before they buy a full-out gym membership. In these cases, treadmill rental is a good option, because these individuals will not even have the treadmill long enough to pay it off. Also, since some treadmills are only designed for walking, maybe a user hopes to upgrade soon to a treadmill designed for running, meaning he or she will not actually need the walking treadmill for a long time.
Another reason a treadmill rental is useful concerns the old adage of try it before buying it. Some individuals may want to get in shape but may not know which cardiovascular equipment is the best option. They may try a treadmill but decide they would rather have a bicycle, or visa versa. For these people, a treadmill rental gives them the chance to try it out for a while and decide if it is what they really want. Also, treadmills come with a variety of options and accessories, and if a consumer knows he or she wants to buy a treadmill eventually, maybe renting one first is a good way to try out all of the available options and decide which ones are necessary and which ones are not. That way, when it comes time to pay the real bill, he or she is not paying for options that he or she will never use.
