HD TV phenomenon is coming and it's a matter of time

Conventional television sets receive image and audio data in analog form from different Television Broadcast Networks. The process is bandwidth consuming. What this means is that the Television networks are limited to an assigned frequency to transmit their signals. The current technique used in displaying pictures in your television sets also sets a limit on how much data your television sets can process. Recent developments have afforded the Television industry to try to persuade the millions of television viewers to switch to digital television broadcasting. After that, hd tv or high definition television technology can be best availed of by discriminating television owners.

You may have a very big television set at home yet you are not satisfied because the images it receives from the broadcast stations are not clear. It is not clear because the data of the images sent are not enough to crisp and clear pictures in your very big tv set whether it is an ordinary tv set or plasma tv. TV networks are also amenable into changing their broadcast formats into digital tv or even into hd tv formats because the machinery used for these formats are highly efficient and reliable IC enabled technologies. HD TV will be a more efficient and of better quality.

The forces at odds here are basically financial and what the general public wants. It is interesting to note that in the U.S. all new TV sets must have DTV tuners or digital tv ready as of March 1, 2007. The proposed shutoff date for over-the-air analog broadcasts in the U.S. is still on Feb. 17, 2007. Digital ready tv sets can basically accept HD TV video and audio signals too. In other countries, the ministries of communication are refining their formats to take advantage of newer and efficient technologies.

Most plain people think that they may have to junk their old TV sets because HD TV may render their sets obsolete. That is a mistaken concept. They may just have to buy a device to decode the digital signal to analog format which their present TV sets are only capable of. Television Broadcasters are also careful not to alienate millions and millions of television viewers if they suddenly change their format to digital or hd tv formats. They will lose their advertising revenues if they make their marketing base smaller. It will be prudent time for most television viewers to switch to hd tv sets because they will have wider, crispier images to view.
