Math Magic Tricks

Let’s face it, how many of us really like math? We might have to employ it in our daily lives but that doesn’t mean that we have to like it, which is why we thank heaven every day for that handy little invention, the calculator. When it comes to math magic tricks however, you will find that there is simply no option of having a calculator come to your rescue.

For this reason, it is very few people indeed who feel like tackling any math magic tricks and including it in their magic performance. Most budding magicians will probably stay away from it like the plague if they can help it.

However, there are simple math magic tricks which can be used, and which won’t cause you too much of a headache in the process! These require you only to practice your math magic tricks, but then again, you do that anyhow for all your other magic tricks, so this shouldn’t be any different.

The first thing that you need to do, is to get your frame of mind right. If you go into this thinking “what a drag” you will undoubtedly find this attitude coming through in your performance as well. And since performance is key to entertaining your audience, you will want to go into this with a good outlook.

When you have accomplished this gargantuan task (this is only if you dislike math of course), you can then move on to the task of finding one or two math magic tricks which you can use. Ideally, you might want to start off easy and then move on to the more difficult ones. This makes good sound sense, right?

Next, you will want to put into practice your math magic tricks. Depending on the tricks you’re using, you might have to get an assistant to help you carry out these math magic tricks out. Sometimes, it is even necessary for your assistant to be part of the audience. In this way, you can direct the performance of these math magic tricks, and any other tricks for that matter, the way that you want them to go.

And if you didn’t know it by know, all the great magicians do this, or did this, at some point or time or other in their magical career. Sometimes it is a necessity, especially if you want to deliver a good performance.

In the case of math magic tricks, this would more than likely take the guise of giving you much needed correct answers or asking you the correct probing questions needed to start out your trick.

When you have mastered all of these steps, and more if the need arises and as your own experience dictates, you will then be able to deliver to your audience some good math magic tricks as a regular part of your magic performance.
