Street Magic Revealed

Sure there were magic shows aplenty in the world, but in an ever increasing world of jaded cynicism, it was getting more and more difficult for younger magicians to break into the field. It was also becoming more and more difficult for the casual magician to be taken seriously. When it arrived on the scene however, street magic revealed to all and sundry that magic was well and truly alive.

Indeed with the likes of David Blaine and his popular street magic shows, the art of magic has once again been revived. You could even say that it was being revived to the times of when that greatest magician of all time Harry Houdini, was alive and anything was possible in magic.

Indeed if anything, street magic revealed to the world at large, that magic was not dead, and that there were still a number of secrets about magic which were still secret. In the last decade we might have run through the gamut of magicians revealing to us the how-to of certain magic tricks, but street magic revealed to us that there was still more for us to be amazed at in the magic world.

And with the popular success of street magic in general, more and more kids have had their interest in magic rekindled. They have found that magic is fun, but they have also found that magic is a serious thing.

You can go to your nearest magic shop and purchase a trick or two to perform in front of your friends, but that doesn’t mean that you are a full fledged magician. You will need to practice a lot more before you can become a really good magician, and more to the point, you will need to work with “real” magic tricks as opposed to those which are more or less readymade.

When street magic revealed and opened up another world for young kids to explore, most parents were glad that their kids were engaging in something wholesome for once. But there are sides to street magic which are not always shown by television, and all parents should be aware of this.

Young kids, even adults can get into trouble when performing any type of street magic. For one thing, if children are underage, they need to be monitored so they don’t get into trouble, and for another thing you might find that street magic can’t be performed on the streets that easily. Depending on where you are wanting to perform, you might find that you need to obtain a permit of sorts to perform.

You will also want to make sure that your kids go to a “safe” neighborhood, or that they are performing in a safe place. Street magic revealed the joys of magic to us and to our children, and now it is our duty to keep this joy going in a safe manner.
