Some handy Google Adsense tips to increase your earnings
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced webmaster, learning new Google Adsense tips is always a positive step for your online business empire (Otherwise known as your websites!).
New, effective and not so effective Google Adsense tips are thrown around the internet on a day to day basis. Not all of these work, but the general consensus amongst seasoned Adsense pro's is to, yes you guessed it, experiment!
In this article I will discuss just a few ways you can easily increase your Adsense CTR (Click through Rate) by simply changing and experimenting with various factors on your website.
Highest Paying Adsense Blocks
One of the most recurring Google Adsense tips relates to which sizes/types of ad units you should use on your website. Different people will have different results, however Google themselves have stated which ad units they see as generating the most revenue for publishers. These ad units are:
336×280 (large rectangle), 300×250 (inline rectangle), 160×600 (wide skyscraper).
Personally I absolutely love the large rectangle. I use it on most of my content heavy sites, and find the CTR is double that of any of my other ad units.
I can not finish up here without mentioning link units. Many Google Adsense tips skim over link units; however I find them extremely valuable when placed correctly - so ensure you give link units a try as well!
Ad blending
I'm sure we all know the old rule - remove the borders on your ad units and blend the text color and font with your site's content. This means adjusting your site's font style, NOT the Google Adsense code (of course it's illegal to modify the Adsense code).
Arial 11px or 12px is a common Adsense font style, and Verdana is used on link units. If you have not already matched your site's fonts to your Adsense code, please do so. The CTR increase should be immediate.
Experimenting
This is the most valuable of all Google Adsense tips. I can't stress enough how important it is to experiment with your ad placement, types of ads, fonts, colors and and number of ad units. Changing just one or two small things on a page can have drastic effects on your earnings - in a positive or negative way.
The best way to experiment with your Adsense is to make one or two changes at a time, and leave it like that for AT LEAST one week. One month is preferable as it allows you to have a greater perspective on the results. If the results are positive, stick with it. If you find your changes have negatively impacted on your earnings, then try something else. The opportunities are endless, so don't be scared to try!
I have touched on just a few of my favorite Google Adsense tips in this article. I am certain that if you attempt any one of these tips, your Adsense revenue will increase (provided you eliminate any negative factors).
I wish you all the best of luck with your Adsense earnings!
