Airplanes Show Off Moves in Aerobatic Flying
Aerobatic flying is one of the greatest and most-watched show exhibitions in the sky. Usually executed for recreation and entertainment purposes, it is actually a demonstration of flying maneuvers of pilot-controlled airplanes that can gather hundreds of spectators in an open field. Planes rolling, looping, yawing, and spinning in spectacular formations are remarkable exhibitions one's eyes can get a grip off and even leave one breathless for a while.
With the high level of skills needed to execute such plane maneuvers, aerobatic pilots are highly regarded not just by spectators but fellow pilots as well. A circle of pilots even hold aerobatic flying competitions to give recognition to best aerobatic pilots in town. This gathering eventually made aerobatic flying a sport.
If you dream of someday making airplane stunts in the air, well you first have to become a licensed pilot and save a significant amount of money to sustain this hobby. In entering an aviation flying school, you already have to spend a lot of money unless of course you got to score a scholarship. If you're already a certified pilot, you need money to either rent the plane to practice your maneuvers or better yet buy your own airplane. A big investment is really entailed if one decides to do aerobatic flying that also depends on the kind of aerobatic aircraft you fancy getting.
Aerobatic flying uses two types of aircraft namely specialist aircraft and aerobatic capable aircraft. Specialist aircraft are more expensive since it provides the ultimate aerobatic performance. It includes plane designs of Pitts Special, the Extra 200 and 300, and the Sukhoi Su-29. Aerobatic capable aircraft is more basic but not at all cheap. It is usually aircrafts designed to carry passengers and luggage. Which type you should buy depends on the skills and capability you have as a pilot. Specialist aircrafts require a more advanced flying skills compared to aerobatic capable aircrafts.
Although it looks really entertaining in the sky, aerobatic flying also serves a more significant purpose especially in an army's air force. Such flying stunts can be used as tactical maneuvers in aerial combat by fighter pilots. That is why aside from being an entertaining show aerobatic flying is also part of army flight drills so fighter pilots would develop the precise tactical skills in air combat.
Aerobatic flying, therefore, goes beyond what the eyes can enjoy. It is also necessary for our air army to protect our country.
