Hawaii Airlines: What is there to choose from?

A typical question for people traveling to the islands is what Hawaii Airlines do I have to chose from? Well, the answer to that can be a bit complicated. For Hawaii airlines offering service in the islands there is the obvious choice: Hawaiian Airlines. Hawaii's largest airline and perhaps the most famous may not be something that everyone is interested in. There are several Hawaii airlines that you the reader may not be familiar with, one of which is Pacific Wings.

Pacific Wings

Pacific Wings is a small Hawaii airline offering air cargo and charter services throughout the islands. Their fleet of planes includes prop driven smaller charter flights that have a more personal touch. Why take a big plane and have to bump shoulders with who knows who when you can charter a small, personal plane to take you to your island destination? Other Hawaii airlines do not offer the personal touch of Pacific Wings. They also offer support services on the ground to make your trip as memorable as possible. These personal charters are extremely flexible and private, and flights start as cheap as $39. Yes you read that right. Cheaper and friendlier, what other Hawaii airline can offer that?

Mokulele Airlines

Mokulele offers similar services to Pacific, but in a non chartered way. They are one of the smaller Hawaii Airlines that have set routes and fares, yet can offer the same personal touch of a charter. They too can help you book your plans on the ground or in the air and have relationships with major hotels on all the different islands.

When choosing a Hawaii airline you have to ask yourself what your main goal is, do you want to just get a plane trip or are you looking for something more? If the answer is the latter, look to some of the smaller companies to give you what you need. These smaller companies give their customers the personal attention they desire without sacrificing the service they need. Most, if not all, offer flights that are comparable in price to the bigger airlines so you will not be paying extra to get the extra attention. Why not try something different and make your trip a memorable one, instead of getting the same stale peanuts and day old coffee? I know that for myself the choice is easy. I would choose to put my trip in the hands of people I can work with, not with some large company whose only interest is the bottom line. As far as your decision goes, that is up to you.
