Getting Serious About Home Theater Design

Ok let's quit messing around and get to some serious home theater design talk. You have dedicated a room to your home theater and you are going to install a home theater and that is that so now we need to move to the higher levels of home theater design and really talk about issues that you would never consider if you were installing your home theater equipment in your living room or some other double use room. This is your own theater and you will be really focusing on turning this into a place where you can go to get away from the world and just watch movies and not have anyone else interfere that doesn't belong. So in this higher level of home theater design we will be discussing some very high end home theater design ideas that should only be used if you honestly intend on making your room a home theater exclusively. This is not for the casual movie fan.

First thing in real home theater design is that you won't be needing that big screen television at all. You are going to build a screen area on your wall and purchase a DVD projection system that can accommodate almost any reasonable sized wall along with digital sound and remote control. This is the pinnacle of movie watching and is only desired by those really interested in high end home theater design. There will be no television feed in this room. If you ever see a commercial on that screen you should be ashamed of yourself and you should tear that screen down and turn your home theater into a doll room or something. For this home theater design project we want a real projection system that is only going to show movies and it won't be cheap and it won't disappoint you either. Man I love this!

Oh My, The Sound!

You will purchase a top of the line stereo receiver that is Dolby 5.1 surround capable and can accommodate at least 4 speakers directly from the receiver itself. You will then go out and purchase speakers that are compact but powerful. They will contain sub woofers and tweeters and they will be mounted at just above ear level at each corner of the room. That Dolby surround will have the trains moving from one side of the room to the other and you will swear that Sinatra is in the room singing Chicago by the time you are done. This is real home theater design.

Now that you have completed your home theater design it is time to enjoy it. Your home theater system will be so good that you could charge admission but you won't. You won't because a home theater is for having friends and family over. Good times is the final element to any home theater design.
