How Not To Anger The Masses With Your Home Theater Seating
The success of your home theater depends completely on who you are trying to impress with it. If you are trying to make it a regular place for you and your friends to hang out and watch movies then you are going to design your home theater seating so that people will want to come back and watch movies with you. If you don't want to seem rude then you will make your home theater seating accommodate you and make it just tolerable for anyone else that may want to invade your movie watching sanctuary. If you want people to leave you alone then you would probably refer them to a few wooden crates piled in the corner of the room and tell them to sit in the back and be quiet. But most people create home theaters to share with family and friends at least once in a while and your home theater seating can reflect that.
There are so many options to home theater seating and it really just depends on factors such as how dedicated the room you are using can be to your home theater, how genuine you want the experience to be, or how plush you want everything to seem. The most important of these is to decide if the room you are using is your own little theater or if it will be doubling as the living room as well. If your home theater seating system needs to accommodate the regular television watching crowd as well then you are probably stuck with couches and love seats and maybe a recliner or two. This is your standard living room/home theater set up you will find in homes all over the country. Then there is the next level.
Oh The Lucky Ones
If you have a room you are dedicating to your home theater then you have decisions to make about your home theater seating. You could spend a lot of money on this but if you are dedicating an entire room to it then I guess it doesn't make much difference. One option you have is to recreate the theater feel by having your home theater seating emulate real theater seating minus the sticky floor of course. You may want to make your theater seats a little more comfortable than standard seats by padding them a little more and making them recline a little more, but with this you can get home theater seating that makes you always feel like you are out at the movies.
Many people prefer to have their home theater and then also the comforts of home as well. These are the folks that install plush recliners in their home theaters and make movie watching a pretty comfortable experience. This is great for comfort but it can get difficult to make your friends leave after a while.
