When you are building your own home theater remember that it is your home theater and your ideas so you should be building yourself a custom home theater that meets your needs and your specifications. It is sometimes difficult to remember that even though you have all of this equipment to install you can still do whatever you want with your custom home theater and that means anything. You want the movies showing on the ceiling? No problem because it is your custom home theater. If you have the budget maybe you could put some of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders in their cheerleading outfits in as ushers and ticket takers. That would be sweet until the wife found out. They your custom home theater would turn into your custom pile of electronic stuff that they wife destroyed with a baseball bat. Which isn't fair because that bat meant a lot to me. I mean, if you are going to consider cheerleader help for your custom home theater then it may be best if you are single or planning on becoming single very soon.
Curtains Up!
When I was a kid I used to love to walk through curtains into a room and our local movie theater never had that. Maybe in your custom home theater you could install some curtains over the doorway because not only will the curtains help capture the sound and prevent it from bouncing off the walls which will make everything sound better, but it would just be the coolest feeling to walk into your custom home theater through a big velvet curtain or something like that. Now that is living!
Every theater needs popcorn and your custom home theater should have some creative way of making and serving theater quality popcorn. There are popcorn makers you can buy that look like old movie theater popcorn makers and that would make everything complete in your own little world with your custom home theater. So use your imagination and remember that all of the decisions are up to you so don't be afraid to make your theater look exactly the way you want it to.
