Whenever this topic comes up on a forum, there are always pages and pages of responses. People tend to get attached to a web host that is working well for them, whilst others are quick to knock down those who have failed them in the past. This sort of freedom of speech and opinion is great for end users as we have access to honest and unbiased reviews about all the web hosting companies. The cream of the crop then rises to the top with generally all round positive opinions spoken of it.

All of the above providers have proven themselves to be reliable and value for money. Don't however discount the smaller hosting companies. Although you should never move your important websites to a new, unknown host, there is nothing wrong with setting up a new site at a new web host just to try it out. If their price is good and they have been around for a while, chances are that you may just find yourself a bargain. The larger, more popular hosts as mentioned above are generally not the cheapest around as they can afford to raise their prices due to their fantastic reputation.
Once you have decided what sort of hosting you want, such as shared, dedicated or reseller, browse the online reviews and make your decision from there. Try not to agree to a long contract unless you are totally sure that you wish to stay with that web host for the required period of time. Often it is a good idea to try out a new host on a per month basis before committing to a long term payment plan.
