Websites often have agreements with web hosting companies to not publish too many negative comments about them, or even none at all! So how can you really tell if what you're reading is the entire truth?
Most of the time, people on web forums are simple stating their views from personal experience. Generally there is no reason for them to praise or criticize a particular web hosting company other than to speak about their experience with them.
If you can not see any affiliate links or ads about a particular company being spoken about on a forum then there is a good chance that the comment is entirely unsolicited and honest.
