Shenandoah Performing Arts Camp of Shenandoah Conservatory

Shenandoah University is a Level 6 private university. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the Winchester, Virginia-based institution received university status in 1991. Founded in 1875 as Shenandoah Seminary, the university has over 80 programs and approximately has 3,000 students to date. One of the six schools of the university is the Shenandoah Conservatory.

Shenandoah Conservatory offers music, dance and theatre degrees. It also offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. It has over 60 degree programs at doctoral, masters and baccalaureate levels. The college has produced over 300 performances in a year.

Shenandoah Conservatory is noted as the oldest school of Shenandoah University. It is a four-year college institution that also offers performing arts summer camps. The Shenandoah Performing Arts Summer Camp brings various students from across the US.

Shenandoah Performing Arts Summer Camp of Shenandoah University can provide youths with various activities to take part in. Participants of the summer camp can receive different instructions that can last for two weeks. They include chamber music coaching and large ensemble participation. Camp participants can also receive one private lesson per week.

Moreover, participants of the program can have the opportunity experience campus life. They can stay in air-conditioned halls, can utilize the dining hall, can receive a festival t-shirt and can watch various performances produced by the institution.

The Shenandoah Performing Arts Summer Camp is geared for middle and high school students. The summer camp can provide this group of students the opportunity to develop their talents through participation in small and large ensembles. The institution has programs in orchestra, jazz, harp, chamber music, piano, vocal, and dance. It also has an ensemble of bands. The summer camp program can provide participants the opportunity to perform solo. Students can take part in the Concerto Competition where they can have the chance to perform with the orchestra in solo or in small groups.

A technology class and eurhythmic class are classes offered by the institution recently. Furthermore, the summer arts camp would also like students to participate in various recreational activities to balance the school's offers of artistic experience. Participants can engage in sports, dances and cookouts and can participate in various social activities. They can also have the opportunity to attend a Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre production and can have the chance to watch the performances of high-profile musicians.
