Frost Bite? No Thank You.
Autumn has gone, the leaves have stopped failing, and suddenly winter is all around us. Very quickly the temperatures drop and soon it feel bitterly cold to even go outdoors. But outdoors you have to go as you need to go to work; the shops and even take the kids to school. Life continues as the seasons change. But you could easily be a target for frost bite if you don't take care over your footwear this winter.
As the leaves fall from the trees, so you need to put away your summer shoes, and your trainers. You need sturdy winter boots for this time of year. In quite a lot of the world the weather is going to get extremely cold and they will also get lots of snow. You need to make sure your winter boots are waterproof and also have some sort of thermal lining inside them, to keep your feet well protected and warm.
You might need to make a decision are you going to be practical or are you going to be fashionable? Maybe you can be both especially if the shoe shops near you sell winter boots that are fashionable and will keep your feet warm and dry.
If you live somewhere which has very cold weather, then you know the problems of going outdoors, and making sure there is no exposed parts of your body. The last thing you want is frost bite. Remember you can't rely on how you are feeling because when the temperature drops below -26 C the body anesthetises and you will not feel anything until you go back into the warmth of an indoor building.
This is another reason why you need excellent ski and snow boots when skiing on the winter Alps. If the choice comes between getting frost bite, because the cold and wet has reached your toes and being fashionable then you don't really have a choice to make. Your health has to come first.
Take another good look in the shops before the snows start to fall, and the real cold weather sets in. See what winter boots are available and look and check the fabric they have been made with. Are these boots waterproof, do they allow the feet to breathe, do they have a good warm lining in them. These are the main questions you have to ask, but you might need to consider can I walk in these boots if we have six inches of snow this year. Be practical about your winter boots, and make sure your feet remain healthy in them this year. Frost bite? Not for you if you make a sensible choice.
