Jealousy after cosmetic surgery

You have dreamed about it for so long, the body you want and finally the day comes when you go for the surgery. Everything goes according to plan and very soon all the swelling from the surgery subsides. Soon it will be D-day and you will venture out into the big bad world. You are so excited about the new body you have, but suddenly reality dawns when you start getting snide remarks and catty comments about your new looks. You hadn't anticipated the jealousy that other women would displayed after you had your cosmetic surgery.

Women can be the world's worse when it comes to being catty, giving snide remarks and being jealous. Some women seem to think their mission in life is to be negative and always put someone down. If you think about it for a moment, these women will be the ones who criticize the women who have put on weight; those who have lost weight; those who have gone gray; those who have had their hair colored. In other words they will find fault because that is how they are. Well, not really they have issue with self esteem themselves and feel slightly better if they can make people miserable as well.

You might have already given this a thought, but it will still be a shock when it happens. You will be cut off from the crowd; you might even find yourself losing friends after you have your surgery. Maybe you will find your friends (or those you thought were your friends) crossing to the other side of the road to avoid any contact with you. You will start to wonder if you have the plague or some other undesirable disease. Maybe your social friends stop inviting you to the dinner parties that you use to go to.

Now you will be wondering what is happening, nobody warned me about this when I went for my surgery. It is simply jealousy from these other women. But it is also a deep seated fear, an uncertain, that maybe their husband or partner would prefer the new you to them. Maybe they know that the surgery you had their husbands wished they would have.

They know what they might do if they were in your position and they are totally paranoid that you will do the same. They are so consumed by jealousy, they all they can think of is how to avoid you; how to hate you; and how to be negative towards you. These friends that you thought you had are now showing their true colors, your real friends are happy for you they can see the difference the cosmetic surgery has made to you. Stick with your true friends and enjoy the new body you now have.
