The Story of Shanghai Knights

Shanghai Knights begins in the Forbidden City in the year 1887. Chon Wang's sister (Chon Lin) and father were the keepers of the Imperial Seal of China. While Chon Lin was talking with her father a group of boxers led by Lord Nelson Rathbone (Aidan Gillen) attacked them and left with the Seal. Lin's father gave her a puzzle box with a letter to Chon Wang before he died.

Wang received the puzzle box and letter from Lin and soon found out that their father was murdered and that the murderer was staying in London. Wang went to New York to find Roy to get his share of the gold to buy a ticket to London. Unfortunately, Roy spent most of the gold to buy a Zeppelin. They attempted prostitution to buy tickets to England but were not successful.

The two were able to slip themselves in a crate on the way to London. Wang then told Roy about what happened to his father and Roy had sworn that he will help Wang reclaim the Imperial Seal.

Once they arrived in London, Wang and Roy got arrested while pursuing thieves. Nevertheless, they were thanked by Inspector Doyle for catching the thieves. While inside the precinct, Wang learned that his sister Lin was also captured for attempting to kill Rathbone. However, Roy talked to Doyle and they were all able to get out.

While they were wandering along the streets of London, they came across Charlie (a young thief who they encountered earlier) again. Charlie helped them find Rathbone by going to a gala while disguised.

They sneaked through every room and were able to see Rathbone handing over the dagger to Wu Chow (the illegitimate brother of the Emperor). Rathbone had set the building on fire after seeing them. They all ran off and got separated with Charlie having the Seal.

They were all captured by Wu Chow and his men while trying to protect Lin from "Jack the Ripper". They were asked for the Seal but Charlie has it. Wu Chow desperately wants to get the Seal to have the throne.

Wang and Roy escaped and went to Doyle to help them find the Seal. They reclaimed the Seal but it was taken by Wu Chow's men. The two got arrested for trespassing but was able to escape because of Charlie.

After escaping, they went straight to Queen Victoria's ball where they found Wu Chow, Lin and Rathbone. They all battled out for the Seal. Wu Chow was killed by Lin while Rathbone died when he fell from the Big Ben Tower. After reclaiming the seal, Wang and Roy became Shanghai Knights and the rest was history.

Shanghai Knights did not surpass Shanghai Noon's success. However, Shanghai Knights still grossed over $88 million in the Box Office.
