Creative Web Design Is A Lost Art

If you do a quick run through the web these days you will see hundreds and hundreds of web pages that look exactly the same. To me creative web design has been completely lost and all the pages out there today look like cookie cutter representations of HTML. Back when I started designing pages creative web design was a sought after skill. Now a days it just seems like how many words you can type per minute is more important.

Bringing Creative Web Design Back

There is a way to change this however. You the reader of this article can make a conscious decision to not be a standard developer, but rather take a better approach and become a creative web designer. The first step to doing this is to get rid of you automatic formatting code writer and get back to hand typing it yourself.

While I know this may seem tedious you will be amazed at how many different ways there are to do things in web development. Creative web design really requires that you get in there and type it out yourself. You really will not get anything original if you have a machine typing out your code for you, so get back to basics load up notepad and get to work.

Many coders today have just found it easier to let the program write their pages for them and have lost the ability to actually write for themselves. This lost art has taken creative web design out of the picture and relegated it back to automation.

For those of you out there that have never actually had to do any development on a text editor this is the perfect time to learn how. It really is not as difficult as you think and the people that are truly good at writing code will use a text editor for most of their work. Once you know what you are doing it is faster and more efficient than letting the machine type it for you.

In addition writing code in this way also makes you pages a lot more streamlined as no unneeded code is typed in. Pages will load faster, which leads to happier customers and clients. The moral is in order to create truly creative web designs you need to be able to actually write them up yourself. So take some time, find a good tutorial, load up notepad and get to work.
