Finding Good Free Online Web Design Classes
There are plenty of free online web design classes available, but very few that could be classified as being good. A lot of what is or is not a good class depends on what you need from it. If you are simply looking for the basics, than just about any of a bunch of web design classes will do. However, if you are looking for specialized instruction things can be more difficult.
Web Design Classes That Meet Your Needs
The class I found that has really helped me to become a much better programmer was offered by a forum that I frequent. The one thing that made this class different from a lot of the other online ones that I looked at was that it was a weekly offering. Each week a new topic was discussed and instruction was given by certified professionals. While the actual class may not have been what I was looking for it did open up some significant avenues for me.
The first was that I started to get instruction in areas that while I did not at the time think I needed, eventually I did find uses for. In addition while the instruction may have been for one thing, generally the classes covered a wide variety of topics and theories that made that one thing work. Everything in coding is related and with each project I realized that with each class I was learning more and more and things were starting to connect.
In addition, many classes were in areas that I have never even dreamed of being possible in web work. Theories and ideas that were discussed opened up possibilities for my development and writing that I had never considered. I can not tell you how helpful this was.
Third and finally were the people that I was taking the web design classes with. Many of these people were much like myself and we formed a group that worked together to complete our projects. We basically became a tight knit team that relied on each other to complete projects the singly would have been well beyond our means.
So in conclusion see if you can become a part of weekly group that gets together regularly and you will learn more than you imagined and meet people that can help you along your way. Try to get as much as you can out of your web design classes beyond just the instruction. By maximizing your time you can truly become the developer you want to be.
