Web Design And Development Made Easy
If you have your own business, club or whatever and want to put a web page together web design and development can seem like a daunting task. This article is here to show you that web design and development does not have to be this way and in fact can be fun.
Making Web Design And Development Fun
The fist thing you need in order to make your web design and development fun is a program that you are comfortable with. The two that I find best are Microsoft's FrontPage and Macromedia's Dreamweaver. Both of these programs have some very intuitive functions and can make web design and development super easy.
FrontPage is the most prevalent of web design and development programs. The good thing about this that you can find literally hundreds if not thousands of web pages dedicated to showing you how to best work FrontPage. If you get stuck and need help with a command there is sure to be a web site out there that can help you. In addition to that, this program has been around for a long time so significant developments have been made making it easy and very effective to use.
The one problem I have found with FrontPage is that when using it for serious web design and development it has a tendency to make very bloated code. What this means is slower load times and more storage space for your pages. While the storage space is not much of an issue considering how cheap hard drives have become, the load times is. You want you page to come up as fast as possible and the most efficient and streamline code will make that happen.
For doing that I would recommend Macromedia's Dreamweaver. It has all the functionality of FrontPage and does not add any proprietary tags and bloated code. It has a very handy preview pane for seeing your pages develop as you write them and it also contains a program that will go through and check for excess code so that you can automatically streamline your code.
In addition to that you can also get a free 60-day trial of Dreamweaver to experiment with so that you can decide if it is the program for you. Ultimately it will be up to you how you want to do your web design and development, but I would highly recommend looking at both programs before going forward. You may be surprised at which one you like, and at the end of the day if you do not like the program you are working with your web design and development will not be fun.
