The first Microsoft web design program we will look at is FrontPage. This program is specifically designed for the creation of web pages and is used by home designers and professionals alike. If you are new to making web pages this program is probably the best choice to start with. It offers many tools that make building your web page easy.
Some of the Microsoft web design tools that are included with FrontPage include a tag checker that will let you know if you have any open HTML tags. It also will color code the tags so that you know which is associated with which result. It has a preview mode that allows you to see your page as you write the code. In addition if you are not into writing in HTML at all you can simply create the page as you would any other Microsoft document and the program will automatically create the page for you.
The next Microsoft web design program the article is going to look at is Microsoft Word. While not specifically designed for writing HTML Word has many things in it that make writing code easy and efficient. It lacks the ability to preview the page, but if you continually save and open your saved document with your browser you can preview it yourself.

While notepad does not have any features that make it a robust editor, for the HTML expert it is a very fast and very low resource programmer. You can save your document and preview it in a web browser so that you can see your work in progress. The last Microsoft web design program to look at is Word pad. This program, like notepad, is freely available on Windows systems. It has bit more to offer than notepad feature wise and is my personal choice for serious editing.
