Recent studies have shown that there may be a link between certain birth control pills and insomnia, however, and have shown that these may be the underlying cause of these women's troubles.
Is Your Insomnia Caused By Your Birth Control?

All of these can cause insomnia, and each of these factors can be easily treated.
Once you have ruled out any other causes for your insomnia, talk to your doctor about the possible connection between your birth control pills and insomnia. He or she will probably have you switch to a lighter dosage of contraceptive, until you are finally able to sleep again.
