Taking A Look At Some Easy Quilting Patterns

One of the easiest patterns is the Nine Patch. This consists of nine blocks of equal size that are sewn together to form one square. You can mix and match your colors or you can choose a color scheme for the entire quilt. Once the squares are sewn together, you can either join them in rows, or you can use strips to put them together. This allows for contrast between each square.

If you want to get a little more elaborate, yet still stay with a simple pattern, the Stars and
strips quilt is considered to be among the easy quilting patterns. Even though it looks complicated, it is actually just a variation of quilting blocks. When red, white, and blue are used you can easily create a patriotic look with stars and stripes throughout the quilt. Usually, the hardest part of this pattern is cutting out all of the pieces. Most everything can be cut with a rotary cutter except for the stars. You will also need to know how to appliqué if you use this pattern since the stars are appliquéd on.

The beginners Rail Fence pattern is also another intricate looking pattern but is still considered to be in the easy quilting patterns list. This pattern consists of strips which are all the same size and are sewn together to make a square. The intricate part comes with the placement of the squares. The squares can be turned in different directions to form several different visual patterns.
