Rules of Feng Shui: A Guide to Creating a Positive Design

Using Feng Shui can result in positivity and a good flow of energy to the space it is used in. There are certain rules of Feng Shui however, which need to be followed if you want to have a successful Feng Shui design. Feng Shui can be applied anywhere, but the bedroom is one of the most important rooms in any home and should always be one of the first that you implement Feng Shui into.

Rules of Feng Shui for the Bedroom

Here we will focus on the rules of Feng Shui for the bedroom in particular. The first step you should take is to clear up as much space as you can in the bedroom. A lot of the time people will have more furniture in their room than they actually need, and so unless you have already done this in the past month or so it is definitely time to do so.

You should clean the ceiling fan if you have one and all around the baseboards, all the places that you may not think of cleaning otherwise. You basically want to start with as clean and new an area space as possible. Clean all surfaces completely, and vacuum, wash the floors. Make sure that all the windows are clean and sparkling as well, and then you can really get started in your design. This is where the energy work comes into play, and you may want to incorporate certain Feng Shui tools here, such as incense.

One of the most important rules of Feng Shui for the bedroom is to remove everything toxic. Your bedroom should never have any clutter because this is where you spend most of your day, and the belief with Feng Shui is that if your room is cluttered, your life will be as well. Especially if you have a partner or live with someone you will want to have your bedroom and clean and clutter-free as possible at all times.

Remove anything fragile from the bedroom as well, and if there is anything that you notice causes you anxiety or irritation when you enter the bedroom you should remove this as well. There should never be anything in the bedroom that contributes to stress, even for a moment. You want the bedroom to be as calm and peaceful a setting as possible. Another of the most important rules of Feng Shui for the bedroom is to make it a place of rest. This means that all the materials in your room need to be calming and nothing should be related to work.
