This is a very easy problem to fix however, and the pull start assembly is usually easy to get to and will not take you a lot of time to repair either. You will need remove a couple of screws before you will have access to the recoil assembly coming off, and once you have taken the housing off you will see the rope know tied inside the inner housing. You should first try simply pulling the string because this will usually fix the problem, if not untie and retie again.
There are also additional tools and accessories that you should have on hand just to make sure that you are keeping your chainsaw in the best possible condition. This includes a chainsaw sharpener for one, which you use to sharpen the blade. You may even want to have a selection of a few different sharpeners, but use them with caution because they can be dangerous if they are not used properly.
