Stress causes a lot of disorders that can be dangerous and detrimental to our physical and mental health. Some people have a difficult time coping with stress therefore increasing their susceptibility to physical and mental disorders. These disorders can be avoided by dealing with stress in a capable manner and also by acknowledging that you are actually stressed.
Stress causes physical disorders such as high blood pressure, heart problems, headaches, cancer, ulcers, respiratory diseases, colitis and muscle tension. Some of the physical disorders that stress causes are life threatening and debilitating. Anxiety disorders, depression, mental illness and other disorders are sometimes caused or triggered by stress and are really difficult to detect.
How Stress Affects Us
Stress causes sickness and disorders in people indirectly and directly. Our reaction to stress can be the trigger to many disorders and sicknesses. Stress causes our hearts to race, our blood pressure to shoot up and many other reactions. Frequent reactions can trigger heart problems and other respiratory ailments. On the other hand, an over reaction to stress can also trigger anxiety and depression.
Some people are more prone to the disorders that stress causes; therefore they need to be more aware of how to cope with it. Diabetes can be indirectly caused by stress when a person prone to diabetes indulges too much in food when he feels stressed. Obesity is one possible cause of diabetes which can be dangerous for our health.
There are numerous disorders that can be directly or indirectly linked to stress and many of these are life threatening. Stress causes many illnesses and disorders but sometimes stress can be viewed in a positive light. This happens when stress causes individuals to perform better and to strive harder. Times like these are great for people and show us our capacity to do things. We just have to bear in mind that while infrequent exposure to stress can be beneficial constant exposure to it can be detrimental to our physical and mental health.
Many stress causes are things that we can actually avoid. These stress causes are sometimes even initiated by us so we basically know how to resolve them or deal with them. If we knew before hand what sicknesses and disorders we can get from stress, we are sure to avoid being stressed. Handling stress causes us to be more confident and makes us better able to face other pressures in life and work.
