The definition of stress is that it is a response of our bodies to a situation at any given time which needs a psychological or physical adjustment that may illicit anger, frustration and anxiety in us. In most cases, stress is experienced in the workplace while in other cases; it is experienced in the home. The definition of stress also cites that our bodies respond to something fin the environment. This means that the stress factor presents itself as something that we are not used to or something new in our lives.

Another definition of stress is that these are factors in the environment, either man made or natural that causes people to respond, learn and grow from the experience. Stress is often seen as a negative experience but some people often relish it and see it as a learning experience. Many individuals are regulated and motivated by the stress that they experience. Constant exposure to stress is not good for us, though. It is the frequent exposure to stress that can cause break downs and other physical and mental anguish.

Other definitions of stress include it being the body's non specific response to a demand. Stress has also been defined as pressure that eventually builds up and causes many mental and physical effects. In almost all the definitions of stress, it does not necessarily state that stress is a negative occurrence in our lives. People can learn from stress and adapt to it as well. We also need a little stress in our lives to help us experience things and grow into better people.

Relieving Stress

The definition of stress states that you will need to relieve it in order to function well. Excessive stress can be debilitating. There are many different ways of relieving stress. These often include taking time out to relax and do nothing at all or to consult a psychiatrist in order to find ways to relieve it and express yourself. Other means of relieving stress is to indulge in sports and leisure activities.

There are also many ways of preventing stress from getting out of hand and this is to take things easy and leave work at the office. Always make it a point to take a break from your routine and experience other leisurely things and activities. Although, the definition of stress states that stress is introduced in our environment, it does not mean that we should not experience other activities.
