Environmental Techniques

Listening to music is one of the stress reduction techniques that falls under the environmental category. Music helps to build a calm and soothing atmosphere that will eventually reduce stress for the listener. Another environmental method of reducing stress is to lessen the importance of the event that may be causing your stress.

Mental Stress Reduction Techniques

These mental stress reduction techniques are probably the most essential because stress is oftentimes more mentally induced. Positive thinking, thought awareness and rational thinking are among the many stress reducing methods. Other mental stress reduction methods are visualization and imagery as well as auto suggestion and self hypnosis.
